Itinerary
  • Day 1. Arrival in Caldas de Reis

On the first day, our chauffeur will pick you up at the airport or train station in Santiago de Compostela and take you to your accommodation in Caldas de Reis.

In this town, near A Baxe, halfway between Santiago and Pontevedra, you will find the Pazo Torre do Río, which will be your first place of rest for two nights.

On this first day, you will check in at your pazo, and the day will be free for you to rest as needed, depending on your journey.

  • Day 2. Vilagarcía de Arousa – O Grove – La Toja – Sanxenxo - Accommodation in Pazo in Caldas de Reis

Breakfast at the hotel, enjoying the wonderful views the complex offers. Once energized, the first route of this second day begins. Our chauffeur will take you through 4 towns, stopping at each one, before returning to the pazo to enjoy a second night in this idyllic location.

The route will be as follows:

Vilagarcía de Arousa

Before arriving, we will stop at the Pazo de Baión and the Pazo de Rubiáns, near Vilagarcía de Arousa. These pazos feature not only French-style architecture but also beautiful gardens, vineyards, and wineries, where you can taste delicious albariño wine paired with some cheese. After this visit, we will continue to Vilagarcía de Arousa, a charming city with beaches, pazos, and a picturesque port. Here, we will take a walk to see the Convent of the Augustinian Nuns and the Pazo de Vista Alegre, whose exterior perfectly reflects the typical style of Galician civil architecture.

In Vilagarcía, you will also find the Pazo de O Rial, the Pazo do Castriño, and the Pazo da Golpelleira, now used as hotels or venues for events like weddings.

O Grove and La Toja

Next, our chauffeur will detour to Cambados to see the charming Pazo de Montesacro before continuing towards O Grove and the island of La Toja. Before reaching these destinations, we will pass by the stunning La Lanzada Beach, where you may enjoy a walk along its high-quality sand. These two towns are connected by the La Toja Bridge. This area is perfect for strolling along its beaches, its forest park, and enjoying the maritime views. If time allows, this will be an excellent opportunity to try the local gastronomy, with numerous grills, seafood restaurants, and tapas bars.

Sanxenxo

Departing via the road that connects to O Grove, our chauffeur will take you to Sanxenxo through a small detour in O Viquiño. You can enjoy the Silgar Beach, the viewpoints, and the Yacht Club. Sanxenxo is also an excellent place for tapas or lunch, with many bars, restaurants, and taverns along its marina and beach.

Route for the First Days (Route with Detours to Pazos):

  • Day 3. Guided Tour in Pontevedra

After breakfast and check-out from the Pazo de Caldas de Reis, our chauffeur will transfer you to Pontevedra.

The city, whose name comes from the Latin "Old Bridge," is one of the key landmarks on the Portuguese Way of Saint James. We will enjoy a guided tour through the historic center, known for its numerous chapels, squares, convents, ruins, and interesting museums. Pontevedra is a city that invites you to explore on foot, offering a tranquil atmosphere and charming scenery.

During the visit, you will see the Pazo de Mugartegui, a baroque-style building with intricately carved stonework by the city’s stonemasons. Its main facade features a large noble coat of arms, one of the most representative elements of this pazo.

Once the guided tour is over, you will have time to sample local cuisine at the city’s restaurants and bars. After enjoying a good lunch, our chauffeur will take you to your accommodation near Vigo, where you will check in and can have dinner at the hotel.

  • Day 4. Vigo – Cíes Islands

Breakfast at the accommodation in Vigo and the start of the fourth day in Galicia.

Depending on the selected ferry departure time to the Cíes Islands, you may choose to stroll through Vigo or head directly to the marina.

The Cíes Islands are part of the Atlantic Islands National Park and are a true paradise, perfectly balancing tourism with ecosystem preservation. With some of the best beaches in Europe and the world, the standout is the spectacular Rodas Beach, renowned for its white sand and crystal-clear waters.

On the islands, there are two restaurants where you can have lunch, although it is advisable to book in advance due to high demand, especially during peak season.

The return to Vigo will vary depending on the ferry schedule. If time permits, you will have additional opportunities to enjoy this beautiful city.

Vigo boasts an interesting old town, with the San Sebastián Castle on Monte del Castro. You can also visit the contemporary art museum M.A.R.C.O. and the port, one of the most important in the world for fishing. Other options include the Pazo de Castrelos, now the Quiñones de León Museum, or the Pazo de San Roque.

Finally, you will return to the hotel to enjoy a second night in this pleasant complex.

  • Day 5. Baiona - Accommodation in a Pazo or Thalassotherapy Hotel

After breakfast and check-out, our chauffeur will pick you up to begin a new day in Baiona.

Accommodation in Baiona can vary according to your preferences. If you wish to enjoy thalassotherapy treatments, you may choose a thalasso hotel. Alternatively, you can stay at the Parador de Baiona, located in an incredible bay on the Monterreal peninsula, an elegant walled building by the sea, or opt for a Charming Pazo, such as Pazo Mendoza. The option will depend on availability for your selected dates.

This day is dedicated to enjoying Baiona, resting, savoring its exquisite gastronomy, spending a wonderful day at the beach, or relaxing in the thalasso.

The highlights of Baiona include its beaches and nautical activities. Its old town has been declared a Historic-Artistic Site of Interest.

You will spend the night at the assigned accommodation.

  • Day 6. Baiona – Castro Santa Trega – La Guardia – Tui – Valença do Minho

Breakfast at the hotel marks the start of our sixth day.

Our chauffeur will take you to La Guardia via a scenic coastal road, where we will stop at Castro de Santa Trega, located at the southwestern tip of Galicia. From this privileged location, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Miño River estuary. The castro is a walled settlement with an archaeological museum that provides insights into the ancient cultures that inhabited the area.

After this delightful visit, we will head to Tui, a city full of history and beauty. Highlights include the Monte Aloia Natural Park, the Tui Cathedral, the Monastery of Santo Domingo de Tui, and several churches and breathtaking landscapes.

Finally, we will cross the border via the bridge to the fortress town of Valença in Portugal, where you can admire its impressive moats and walls. If time allows, you will have the option to stay and try its traditional codfish, a culinary delight of the region.

After this visit, we will return to our complex in Baiona, where you will have dinner and rest.
