Private circuit for small groups (from 2 to 8 people) with transfers included and a private driver for all visits. Over 7 days (6 nights), you will enjoy an exclusive experience. This circuit is specially designed for lovers of Paradores, both historical and modern, combining luxury, history, and the beauty of these iconic accommodations.
Paradores de Turismo is a prestigious network of hospitality establishments in Spain, which has been managing nearly a hundred hotels across Spain (and one in Portugal) for almost a century, present in all autonomous communities.
What characterizes the Paradores de Turismo are the establishments where they are located. Iconic buildings selected for their historical, artistic, or cultural interest. Castles, Palaces, Convents, Monasteries, modern buildings, or natural spaces.
These settings allow visitors to discover part of Spanish history, as they are spread throughout the country, with a focus on Andalusia, Castile and León, and Galicia. The latter has 12 Paradores, several of which are in the TOP 20 of the chain's ranking.
- Day 1: Origin - Parador de Baiona
On the first day, our driver will pick you up at the train station or the agreed meeting point, and we will head to the designated accommodation. We will check in and, depending on the arrival time and the necessary rest, we will have the opportunity to explore the surroundings of the Parador de Baiona, which will be our accommodation for the next two days.
We will enjoy an unforgettable experience staying in a medieval fortress. Although the building is modern in construction, it is located within a historic site in the privileged setting of the Península de Monterreal. Despite the elegance of its rooms and suites, the most striking feature of the parador is its impressive views of the ocean. We recommend strolling through its walled gardens or enjoying a drink while witnessing a unique sunset.
After this first day, we will rest at the accommodation to prepare for the next day full of activities.
- Day 2: A Guarda - Castro Santa Trega - Valença do Minho - Tui
On the second day of our stay in Baiona, after a delicious breakfast, we will get ready for an excursion along the oldest border in Europe, which divides Galicia and Portugal, marked by the Río Miño.
Our driver will pick us up at the agreed time and take us to A Guarda, a picturesque Galician village where, following the coastline, we can enjoy spectacular views of the Atlantic. In A Guarda, we highlight the Castelo de Santa Cruz and its port, as well as the beautiful landscapes of Monte Santa Trega. This mount is home to the Castro de Santa Trega, a well-preserved Galician settlement with circular dwellings and an archaeological museum explaining the history of the cultures that once inhabited the area.
We will then cross the border into Portugal and visit the fortress of Valença do Minho, famous for its impressive ditches and defensive walls. Depending on the time, we can take the opportunity to taste the traditional Portuguese cod in a local restaurant.
Our last stop of the day will be in Tui, a Galician city full of history. There, we will visit the Monte Aloia Natural Park, the majestic Tui Cathedral, the Monastery of Santo Domingo, and other fascinating churches and monuments.
At the end of the day, our driver will take us back to Baiona. If we still have energy, we can explore its charming old town, declared a "Historic-Artistic Site", sample the delicious local cuisine, or relax on its beaches. Baiona is also known for its nautical activities, making it an ideal destination for sea lovers.
We will finish the day by dining in Baiona and resting at the assigned accommodation.
- Day 3: Guided Tour Vigo - Parador de Cambados
After resting at the accommodation in Baiona, and after enjoying a good breakfast, we will check out and our driver will be ready to head towards Cambados.
On the way, we will stop in Vigo for a guided tour of the city. One of the main attractions of Vigo is its fishing neighbourhoods, especially Casco Vello de Bouzas, with its small port, lighthouse, urban beach, and beautiful seafront promenade. From here, passing by the famous Sireno Statue, you can reach the city’s old quarter, ideal for wandering through its cobbled streets. Just a few steps away is the well-known Calle de las Ostras ("Oyster Street"), where you can taste the world-renowned oysters from the Ría de Vigo.
We recommend strolling leisurely through Vigo, enjoying its most emblematic monuments, its wonderful old town and, of course, its delicious cuisine.
Once the tour is over, we will continue our journey towards Cambados. Upon arrival, depending on the time, we can devote the rest of the day to resting at the Parador de Cambados, our accommodation for the next few days.
The Parador de Cambados is the former Pazo de Bazán, an elegant 17th-century manor house located in the Rías Baixas and surrounded by beautiful coastal landscapes. This parador combines history and luxury, with bright, comfortable rooms and a lovely inner courtyard with a terrace where you can relax peacefully.
It is undoubtedly an exceptional accommodation, both for its architecture and its natural setting.
We will spend our first night in this charming parador in Cambados.
- Day 4: Traslatio Route - Cambados
Breakfast at the accommodation. Our fourth day begins. In the morning, once we are ready, our driver will take us to Villanova de Arousa, where the Traslatio begins.
The Traslatio tells the story of how the Barca de Piedra ("Stone Boat") carried the body of Santiago on a 7-day journey from Haifa (Palestine) to Iria Flavia (Padrón). Starting from the fishing village of Vilanova de Arousa, we will sail up the Río Ulla, retracing the journey undertaken by the remains of Santiago in the Barca de Piedra. On this incredible experience, we will witness the only maritime fluvial Via Crucis in the world, made up of 12 stone crosses located at the mouth of the estuary and along the banks of the Río Ulla, guiding this Camino de Santiago. We will navigate the final stretch until we reach Pontecesures and then make the return journey to our starting point, where our driver will be waiting to take us back to our accommodation.
Cambados offers a curious combination of a seafaring village and elegance, being one of the main showcases of Galician manor houses (pazos). Its old town has been declared a Historic-Artistic Monumental Site. Here, the Plaza and Pazo de Fefiñáns stand out, at the neuralgic centre of Cambados. In addition to the Pazo, this square is home to buildings such as the Arco Puente and the Iglesia de San Benito. All these constructions are made of granite, making this one of the most unique architectural ensembles in Galicia.
On the outskirts of Cambados, the Ruinas de Santa Mariña do Dozo are also worth mentioning, reachable with a short walk. Built on a 12th-century Romanesque temple, these ruins provide such an idyllic image that they have become the most iconic view of the city.
After this lovely day, we will return to the accommodation to rest.
- Day 5: End of the World: Santiago de Compostela - Gastronomic Tasting - Parador de Muxía
We begin the day by having breakfast at the accommodation in Cambados, from which we will depart heading towards the "End of the World" option, towards Muxía.
On the way, our driver will stop in Santiago de Compostela so that we can discover the city. We will see various places declared World Cultural Heritage Sites, such as its Cathedral (entering through its Pórtico de la Gloria), the Plaza de Platerías, the Plaza del Obradoiro, or the Parador Reyes Católicos.
After our tour, we will enjoy a gastronomic tasting near the Mercado de Abastos in Santiago de Compostela. This is the second most visited point in the city after the Cathedral, an ideal place to shop, admire, and above all, to taste the very essence of the region.
Once we have finished our meal, we will continue our journey towards Muxía and check in. We will spend the afternoon exploring our accommodation.
The Parador de Muxía, also known as the Parador de Costa da Morte, is the latest addition to the Paradores network. It is a modern design building that breaks with the classic décor usually found in Paradores.
Located on Praia de Lourido, the parador is a building set on several levels, adapted to the natural slope, easily connected by two panoramic lifts that move diagonally. Facing the sea, its highlight is the infinity pool, from where we can enjoy unparalleled views.
We will spend the night in Muxía at the selected accommodation.
- Day 6: Visit to the End of the World
Breakfast at the accommodation and we will be ready to spend the day discovering the end of the world. The route that our driver will take is as follows:
First, Finisterre, the end of the ancient world. This is where pilgrims coming to Compostela encounter the immensity of the ocean. We will stop at the lighthouse, the most important on the Costa da Morte, guiding ships through its dangerous waters.
We will then continue to Muros, a lovely fishing town with beaches as interesting as Area Maior, practically undeveloped, with Monte Louro in the background. We will see its port and fish market, and then head towards Noia.
In Noia, we will see the Parroquia de San Martín de Noia and the Plaza da Constitución. This town specialises in shellfishing, especially cockles and clams. It is an excellent place to take a break and sample its gastronomy.
Finally, on our way back to Muxía, we will stop at Ézaro, where we will visit the spectacular Río Xallas waterfall, which flows through Ézaro and empties into the sea, a unique phenomenon in Europe.
Back in Muxía, we will spend the afternoon in this village to visit one of Galicia’s most traditional maritime sanctuaries, "Nosa Señora da Barca", located in a spectacular setting by the sea. Tradition holds that this is where the Virgin appeared to Santiago.
- Day 7: End of the Tour
This is the last day of our getaway. We will wake up after enjoying the comforts of the hotel and have a leisurely breakfast. We will check out and, according to the departure time of the plane or train, our driver will take us to the departure point, whether it is the airport or the train station closest to the end of the tour.
We wish you a pleasant journey home and hope these days in Galicia have left you with unforgettable memories.
