The Galician Rías Altas are renowned for their stunning landscapes of cliffs, strategic lighthouses, capes, breathtaking Atlantic settings, crystal-clear beaches, and iconic cities like A Coruña.

Itinerary
  • Day 1: Arrival - A Coruña

On the first day, our chauffeur will pick you up at the airport or train station and take you to your designated accommodation in A Coruña, which will be your place of rest for two nights.

Depending on your arrival time, you may choose to rest or begin exploring A Coruña right away. This first day will be entirely dedicated to visiting the city, starting with a tour guided by an official guide to see its most iconic landmarks.

We recommend visiting the Tower of Hercules, where you can enjoy the magnificent Roman lighthouse and its surroundings along the Atlantic Ocean. We will walk through its sculpture park and take in the views. We will visit the Maria Pita Square with its emblematic Town Hall and take a stroll through the old town, where you'll find charming spots such as the Romantic Garden of San Carlos, the San Antón Castle, the Santa María del Campo Collegiate Church, and the Plaza de las Bárbaras. If time allows, you can take a final stroll along its marina and markets to try its excellent Atlantic Coast cuisine.

We will rest at the designated accommodation and gather strength for the second day.

  • Day 2: A Coruña – Betanzos – Pontedeume – Fragas do Eume – Ferrol

Breakfast will be served at the accommodation in A Coruña, after which our chauffeur will drive you to Betanzos.

In Betanzos, you’ll explore its impressive historic center, which includes Ponte Vella, the Convent of the Augustinian Recollect Nuns, the medieval walls, and the Constitution Square, all part of its declared Historic-Artistic Ensemble.

From Betanzos, we head to Pontedeume, stopping en route at the Pazo de Mariñán to walk through its gardens. Once in Pontedeume, you’ll see the long stone bridge spanning the Eume River and the Torreón dos Andrade. Depending on time, we’ll either have lunch in Ferrol or visit Fragas do Eume first.

If we have time, Fragas do Eume is a magical place with exceptionally well-preserved flora and fauna. It is an example of a thermophilic Atlantic forest, one of the best in Europe.

In Ferrol, you can savor its exquisite gastronomy. The city also offers much to see, including its historic center, the Naval Museum, the San Felipe Castle, and its beautiful Main Square. If time permits, we can stop at the Castelo de Andrade on the way back, a small but well-preserved castle with breathtaking views of the valley from the Leboreiro Rock.

After an exciting and eventful day, we will return to A Coruña for dinner and rest.

  • Day 3: A Coruña – Malpica – Camariñas – Muxía – Fisterra – Muxía (Costa da Morte)

After breakfast at the accommodation, we will check out. Our chauffeur will be waiting to take you to the first stop, Malpica. We will follow the famous Costa da Morte, a route along the coast featuring fishing villages, cliffs, and capes that have historically challenged even the best sailors of their time.

Malpica de Bergantiños is a coastal village where you can enjoy its harbor and beaches. The highlight here is the Santo Adrián Viewpoint, offering breathtaking views of the Sisargas Islands. We will also visit the Punta Nariga Lighthouse. Before heading to Camariñas, we will stop at the Roncudo Lighthouse. While the lighthouse itself is simple, the dramatic environment, where waves crash violently against the cliffs, offers a stunning view of the Ría de Corme y Laxe.

Continuing south, we will visit Camariñas for a peaceful walk around the village and a visit to the Cabo Vilán Lighthouse. This lighthouse is set in a remarkable yet harsh landscape, known for witnessing several shipwrecks, including the sinking of the Serpent.

Next, we will head to Muxía, where we will check in at our accommodation. Here, you can enjoy lunch in the village and take a relaxed stroll to visit the Muxía Lighthouse and the Santuario da Virxe da Barca. We will end the day by staying overnight at the designated hotel.

      • Day 4: Muxía – Touriñán Lighthouse – Finisterre – Ézaro Waterfall – Caldeiras do Castro

We will have breakfast at the hotel, and our chauffeur will take us to the Touriñán Lighthouse. Like all the lighthouses along the Costa da Morte, the setting here is spectacular, with cliffs and magical landscapes. On the way to Finisterre, we recommend stopping at the Fisterra Viewpoint to enjoy an incredible view of the town. Once in the village of Finisterre, we will visit its lighthouse, where you can contemplate the ancient "Finis Terrae", or "end of the world," as it was once believed to be the edge of the Earth. Here, you can witness where the sun was thought to extinguish itself in the waters.

This is a place of legends, fantasy, and fascination. If time permits and we are ready for more exploration, we may head towards the magnificent Ézaro Waterfall or have lunch in Finisterre before continuing. If we opt to continue the route, we can stop at Cee on the way back and enjoy a meal near its beaches in this charming town.

The Ézaro Waterfall is a serene spot, perfect for walking along its wooden paths and admiring the scenic views from the viewpoints. Kayaks are often available for rent to get closer to the waterfall.

On our return journey, we can optionally visit the Caldeiras do Castro, a perfect place to relax and bathe in the cool waters of its natural pools. You can also visit its chapel and picnic area.

After this eventful fourth day, we will return to Muxía to have dinner and rest.

      • Day 5: Muros – Noia – Santiago de Compostela

After breakfast at the hotel and checking out, our chauffeur will guide us to Santiago, passing through Muros. Upon arrival in Muros, we can stop to admire this beautiful fishing village with fascinating beaches such as Area Maior, a pristine location with the Mount Louro as a backdrop. We will also visit its harbor and fish market before continuing to Noia. If we don't mind a small detour, we can visit the Ponte Nafonso and head towards the Tambre Hydroelectric Plant, also known as the "Hydroelectric Cathedral." Here, you can explore the fisherman's refuge and cross the suspension bridge to take in the views.

Once we arrive in Noia, we can stroll through the town and visit the San Martín de Noia Parish and Constitution Square. This town is known for its shellfishing, particularly cockles and clams, making it a great spot to take a break and sample its gastronomy.

After finishing our visit, we will head straight to Santiago, where we will check in at the chosen hotel. The rest of the afternoon will be free for you to explore the city at your own pace or rest at the hotel.

      • Day 6: Santiago de Compostela

After breakfast in Santiago, we will prepare to explore a city declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site nearly 40 years ago. A guided tour will take us to the city’s iconic landmarks, and there are many to see. Highlights include the Platerías Square, Obradoiro Square, the Parador Reyes Católicos, and the Acibechería Street, the last street that pilgrims walk before reaching the great cathedral. We will also enter through the Portico of Glory to visit the cathedral, its most interesting corners, and the traditional embrace of the Saint.

We will have lunch in the city, where we will savor its cuisine, which includes dishes like Galician broth, octopus, raxo, cheeses, and wines, among other delicacies. We will spend the night at the accommodation.

  • Day 7: End of the Circuit

After breakfast, we will check out of the hotel. Depending on your departure schedule, our chauffeur will drive you to the nearest airport or train station to conclude the circuit.

We wish you a pleasant return journey and hope these days in Galicia leave unforgettable memories in your heart.
