- Day 1. Origin – A Coruña
On the first day, our driver will pick you up at the airport or train station, and we will head to the designated accommodation in A Coruña. Upon arrival at the selected hotel, we will check in and settle into our rooms.
Depending on the arrival time, we may take a walk through the city streets to get a first impression of its charm.
In the afternoon, we will rest at the accommodation to recharge our energy and prepare for the exploration ahead the following day.
- Day 2. Full-Day Excursion – Costa da Morte
We start the second day of our circuit with a delicious breakfast at the hotel. Once ready, our driver will take us to begin the route through the famous Costa da Morte, one of Galicia's most stunning areas, renowned for its rugged coastline, picturesque villages, and legendary cliffs.
The first stop will be Malpica de Bergantiños, a charming coastal town where we can enjoy its port and beaches. The main stop will be at the Miradoiro de Santo Hadrián, offering breathtaking views of the Sisargas Islands. We will also visit the Punta Nariga Lighthouse, surrounded by an awe-inspiring landscape.
We will continue to Camariñas, a picturesque town where we can take a leisurely stroll and visit the Cabo Vilán Lighthouse. This lighthouse is special, surrounded by beautiful landscapes but also a history of tragedies, as it has witnessed numerous shipwrecks, including that of the Serpent, a tragic historical event.
Next, we head to Muxía, where we can leisurely explore its streets and visit the famous Muxía Lighthouse and the Santuario da Virxe da Barca, a site of significant religious and cultural importance for Galicians.
Heading further south towards Finisterre, we recommend a brief stop at the Fisterra viewpoint, where we can enjoy stunning views of the town and its natural surroundings.
Finally, in Finisterre, we will head to the Finisterre Lighthouse, known as the "Finis Terrae", the end of the world according to tradition. This is a place filled with legends, where it was believed that the sun extinguished in its waters, marking the end of the known world in ancient times.
Lastly, we will visit the Ézaro Waterfalls, a unique natural site in Galicia, where we can relax and enjoy the tranquility of its wooden walkways. Kayaks can be rented here to get closer to the waterfall and experience something truly special amidst nature.
After this long but fascinating day of discoveries, our driver will take us back to our accommodation in A Coruña, where we can rest and prepare for the next stage of the journey.
- Day 3. Guided Tour of A Coruña – Free Afternoon
The third day of our circuit is entirely dedicated to exploring A Coruña. After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we will dive into the city's streets for a guided tour led by a local expert, who will show us the city's most iconic landmarks.
We will start the tour at Plaza de María Pita, famous for its impressive Casa Consistorial, the City Hall of A Coruña. From there, we will head to the old town, a place full of charm, where we can admire the Romantic Garden of San Carlos, the San Antón Castle, the Collegiate Church of Santa María del Campo, and the Plaza de las Bárbaras.
Next, we will visit the Tower of Hercules, a Roman lighthouse that majestically overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, surrounded by unparalleled natural beauty. We will stroll through its sculpture park and enjoy its stunning views.
If time permits, we will make one last stop at the maritime port and the markets of A Coruña, where we can savor the city's Atlantic gastronomy, famous for its fresh seafood.
At the end of the tour, we will return to our accommodation in A Coruña to rest and recharge for the next day's adventures.
- Day 4. A Coruña – Full-Day Excursion to Rías Baixas – Pontevedra
This day starts with a breakfast at the hotel in A Coruña before checking out and continuing our journey south through the Rías Baixas. Our driver will take us through some of the most representative areas of this region, eventually arriving in Pontevedra, where we will stay overnight.
The first stop will be at the Arousa Estuary, the largest in Galicia. This estuary is a jewel in any season, with its impressive scenery, natural surroundings, and excellent gastronomy. We will stop at Cambados, a charming town known for its Historic-Artistic Complex, and at the Arousa Island, famous for its fine sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters.
From there, we will head to O Grove and its port on the Beiramar Avenue. This is an excellent place to enjoy lunch, as the town is famous for its seafood restaurants, where seafood lovers can savor fresh local products.
After lunch, we will cross a 19th-century bridge leading to the La Toja Island. This island, located in an area designated as a Red Natura 2000 site, is renowned for its soap production and thermal waters. We will visit the museum of the old factory and the island's chapel, a curious building covered with scallop shells.
Our next stop will be at the Lanzada Beach, one of Galicia's most emblematic beaches. With its 2,500 meters of coastline, it is considered one of the region's best for its high-quality sand and waters. Surrounded by an extensive area of dunes, this beach is perfect for strolling along its wooden pathways that parallel the sea.
Near the beach, we will visit the Lanzada Hermitage, an ideal spot to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings. If time permits, we might witness a breathtaking sunset over the ocean.
After this excursion, our driver will take us back to Pontevedra, where we will conclude the day and stay overnight at the selected hotel to rest and prepare for the next day's activities.
- Day 5. Visit to Poio Monastery – Guided Tour in Pontevedra
After breakfast at our accommodation, we will prepare for a new day in Pontevedra. We will begin with a visit to the Poio Monastery, located just a few kilometers from the city. The San Xoán de Poio Convent was declared a Historic-Artistic Monument in 1970, and records from the year 942 document its existence.
The monastery consists of two parts: the old Benedictine convent, with its church, two cloisters (the cloister of the cross and the cloister of processions), and other facilities; and the modern Mercedarian convent, which also has two parallel patios and a large chapel. In its orchard stands Galicia's largest hórreo (granary), measuring 121 meters, showcasing the wealth of the monastic order. This granary is unique, as it is supported by three rows of stone legs.
This monastery is one of the region's architectural highlights, notable for its age, excellent state of preservation, and artistic value.
After the visit, our driver will return us to Pontevedra for a guided tour of the city. Pontevedra, whose name comes from the Latin "old bridge", is one of the most important stops on the Portuguese Way of St. James. We will explore its historic center, visiting chapels, squares, convents, ruins, and fascinating museums. This city invites leisurely strolling and enjoying its views and relaxed atmosphere.
We will discover the Mugartegui Manor, a Baroque building with intricately carved stonework by local masons. Its façade features a large noble coat of arms. We will also visit the Lourizán Manor, a beautiful, abandoned manor with spectacular gardens. This romantic French-style manor is truly remarkable.
The archaeological remains confirm occupation of the area with the arrival of the Roman Empire, and it is estimated that the city was founded during the conquest of Gallaecia (Galicia). Evidence includes a pillar in the southern head of the Burgo Bridge, dedicated to Emperor Hadrian and dated 137 A.D.
After the monumental experience, the rest of the day is free for further exploration of the city, its historic center, and its delightful gastronomy.
At the end of the day, we will return to our hotel in Pontevedra for a well-deserved rest.
- Day 6. Visit to Cíes Islands
We will have breakfast at our accommodation in Pontevedra and, after checking out, meet our driver to head to Vigo.
Once in Vigo, we will check into the selected hotel and head to the port at the scheduled time to board a ferry to the Cíes Islands, part of the Atlantic Islands National Park. This unique ecosystem features exceptional flora and some of the world's most spectacular beaches, such as Rodas Beach, famous for its paradise-like characteristics. Two restaurants are available on the island, but it is recommended to make a reservation before arrival.
After visiting the Cíes Islands, we will return to Vigo. Depending on the available time and our energy, we can explore the city streets at our own pace.
At the end of this wonderful day, we will return to the hotel to rest.
